Now it is time to add the support mold. I think John called it the mother mold. This is where you need plaster cloth. You can find this at most hobby/craft stores. Cut several pieces into one-foot lengths and set aside.

Get a bucket of water ready. Take one of the Plaster cloth lengths and dip it into the water and then squeeze out the excess water. Straighten out the cloth and then fold in half to make it two ply. Take the plaster cloth and lay on top of the Alginate and gently rub it into all the nooks and crannies. Do this until you have covered the entire face.

While the plaster cloth is hardening you can carefully remove the excess Alginate that is sticking out of the mother mold.

Now that the plaster cloth is dry and hard John removes the mold form Susan's face. Gently work the edges free. Do not rush you don't want to damage the Alginate mold.

Now John mixes up the ultracal to a cake like batter. John then poured it in to the Alginate mold and we waited for it to dry. This took about a ½ hour.

Once the ultracal dried John gently removed the Alginate mold. Now all Susan needs to do is clean up the blemishes with a clay-working tool and it will be read for painting or making another negative mold.
